1923 – 2014

WINTHROP — Edna M. Bourisk, 90, died Saturday, April 19, at her home with her family by her side.

Edna was born in Lewiston on Dec. 1, 1923, a daughter of William John Gibson Sr. and Naomi (Phelps) Gibson.

She grew up in Lewiston, graduating from Lewiston High School in 1942 and in 1947, she married Randolph Bourisk. Randolph and Edna moved to Winthrop, where they made their home and raised their family.

Edna was devoted to her family and was very involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She loved getting together for family gatherings, especially enjoying cookouts and lobster feeds. She enjoyed gardening, growing and canning her vegetables, knitting and cross-stitching, watching old movies, listening to music and dancing. At 90, she could still out dance everyone.

She was raised in the United Baptist Church and married in the Trinity Church.

She is survived by three sons, Tobey Bourisk and his wife, Vicky, of Portland, Jeff Bourisk and his wife, Johnna, of Winthrop and Rick Bourisk of Santa Cruz, Calif.; her daughter, Shelly Bourisk and her companion, Steve Gaboury, of Winthrop; her daughter-in-law, Terry Bourisk, of Winthrop; four grandchildren, Mitchell, Maila, Jessica and Angela; two great-grandchildren, Jada and Lilly; two sisters, Helen Gagne and Gladys Dick, both of Lewiston; her sister-in-law, Janet Gibson, of Auburn; and many nieces and nephews.

Edna was predeceased by her husband, Randolph; her son, Gary; her grandson, Christopher; four brothers; and a sister.
