1916 – 2014

NORWAY — Joseph F. Lomonte, 98, of South Paris, passed away on Thursday, April 17, at the Norway Center for Health and Rehabilitation.

He was born in Manhattan, N.Y., on Jan. 9, 1916, the son of Charles and Celia Loguidice Lomonte. He graduated from Haaren High School in New York and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed as a private gardener at the Sedgwick Estate in Beverly, Mass., for many years, retiring in 1978.

He was post commander of American Legion Post No. 72 from 2004 to 2007. He enjoyed being a disc jockey and a square dance caller.

Joseph is survived by his wife, the former Jean Sylvestre; and his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.

He was known by many and loved by all.
