LEWISTON — Just two-and-a-half years after the opening of the EllieAnna Purse Co. boutique in Lewiston, the business has outgrown the boutique and moved down the street into a new, larger location.

The new retail store, located at 785 Main St., Lewiston, has four times the space of the previous location, with more opportunity to display the variety of purses, scarves, jewelry, art, furniture, food and other Maine and U.S.-made products offered by EllieAnna Purse Co.

Owner and Designer Sarah Legare began her business at her kitchen table in 2009 and moved from the kitchen to her renovated garage in November 2011 to better be able to serve her increasing base of customers. Soon, Legare’s booming business outgrew the quaint boutique and she found a building up for lease nearby that offered the space she needed.

A grand opening at the new location will be held Thursday, May 1, through Sunday, May 4. In addition to Legare’s own creations, the boutique also carries items from Better Than Average, LLC, Wind and Fire, Sarah’s Sand Dollars, Seawicks Candle Company, Bohemian Whimsy Jewelry and more.

The EllieAnna Purse Co. retail boutique is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursdays, 2 to 7 p.m.; and Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
