ORONO — Nick Perreault pushed the victory for the Blue Devils, crossing the plate twice, as Lewiston went on to top Brewer 4-1 in a boys’ varsity baseball match up.

Matt Poulin received the win on the mound for the Blue Devils (2-2), while helping his own effort at the plate with a pair of hits. Austin Wing also chipped in two hits on the day.

Brewer finished the day outhitting Lewiston 8-6, with a pair of hits coming from Logan Rogerson and Galen Williamson. Matt Pushard was charged with the loss on the mound for the Witches (2-2).

Oxford Hills 8, Mt. Ararat 0

SOUTH PARIS — Walter Feeney and Will Frank combined pitching efforts to throw a one-hitter, as Oxford Hills cruised to an 8-0 victory over Mt. Ararat in boys’ baseball action.

Nick Attaliades-Ryan kept the bats hot for Oxford Hills, going 3-for-3 from the plate and batting in a pair of runs. Dalton Rice and Nick Bowie each chipped in a double for the Vikings (3-1).

For Mt. Ararat (0-4), Cameron Cox took the loss on the mound.

Dirigo 10, Hall-Dale 1

FARMINGDALE — Kaine Hutchins struck out seven and allowed one hit in six innings as Dirigo blanked Hall-Dale, 10-0, in a six-inning MVC baseball game.

Hutchins held the Bulldogs hitless through five innings before Ryan Sinclair broke up the no-hit bid with a leadoff single in the sixth.

The Cougars (3-1) had already taken command by then, scoring five in the first thanks in part to an RBI single by Jack Brown and a two-run single by Hutchins. Tyler Frost also had an RBI single for Dirigo. Brown led the offense with three hits.

Winthrop 13, Telstar 2

WINTHROP — Zach Steele and Dakota Carter were in sync all afternoon as pitcher and catcher, allowing just two runs on five hits as Winthrop topped Telstar 13-2 in a five inning MVC boys’ baseball contest.

Steele went 3 for 3 from the plate, batting in three runs as well to secure the victory for the Ramblers (2-1). Ben Allen had the only extra base hit for Winthrop, with a double.

For Telstar (0-3), Chris Chappie smacked a double and Logan Bartlett took the loss on the mound.

Oak Hill 5, Carrabec 4

WALES —   Parker Asselin smashed a bases clearing double in the sixth inning to plate three runs as Oak Hill snagged a 5-4 victory from Carrabec in MVC baseball action Friday afternoon.

Will Campbell provided a pair of hits for the Cobras (1-2). Carrabec secured a pair of runs in the seventh to tie the game at 4-all.

Jake Martin cracked a walk-off double in the bottom of the eighth to plate Brady Dion for the Raiders (4-1) in the winning effort.

Reliever Jonah Martin earned the mound win for Oak Hill.

Sacopee Valley 1, Buckfield 0

HIRAM — An empty scoresheet was finally put to use in the bottom of the seventh inning as Sacopee Valley knocked in the winning run to secure the victory over Buckfield 1-0 in a boys’ varsity baseball contest.

Anthony Haskell struck a line drive that was nearly snagged, to drive in the game winning run.  Roderick Maynard received the win on the mound for the Hawks, as they remain undefeated at 3-0.

For Buckfield (0-2), Jonah Williams pitched a strong game from the mound, striking out eight and allowing just one hit all afternoon.

Lacrosse

Morse 16, Mt. Blue 1

FARMINGTON — Otto Werwais hauled four shots into the back of the net as Morse rolled to a 16-1 victory over Mt. Blue in boys’ lacrosse action.

Dylan Crowell and Alec Beverage paced the Morse offense with a pair of goals each. With the victory Morse remains undefeated on the season, moving to 3-0.

Connor Rouillard tallied the lone goal for the Cougars (1-2), while Leo Flannery turned back 10 shots in net.

EL 17, Oxford Hills 1

AUBURN — Cam Cormier and Henry Nguyen each scored three goals as Edward Little rolled over Oxford Hills with a 17-1 victory in a boys’ lacrosse game Friday. The Red Eddies, who collected their first victory of the season, piled up goals in each quarter.

Matt Verrill scored a pair of goals and Isaac Cote, Steve Sinclair and Chris Poisson each added a goal for EL.

St. Dom’s 7, Mountain Valley 1

AUBURN — Austin Roy scored a hat trick as St. Dom’s notched their first win of the season with a 7-1 victory over Mountain Valley in boys’ lacrosse action Friday.

The Saints trailed 1-0 earl,y before rallying for seven unanswered goals. Kenton Ernst tied the game and Matt Chasse put the Saints up for good with the second goal. Chasse also had three assists in the contest.

Goalie Alex Michaud faced 13 shots to earn the win in net for St. Dom’s..

Spruce Mountain 7, Lisbon 3

JAY —   Emily Keene scattered just two hits and Spruce Mountain played solid defense as the Pheonix defeated Lisbon 7-3 in MVC softball action Friday afternoon.

Hayley Doyen led off the bottom of the third for the Pheonix (3-1) with a single. Following a walk and an infield hit, Kailee Newcomb knocked in a pair with a single to right field as the Phoenix took a 4-0 lead.

Taylor Plourde hit a home run over the left field fence in the seventh inning for the Greyhounds (1-2).

Oak Hill 22, Carrabec 3

WALES — Sadie Goulet pitched a complete game and had four hits at the plate while driving in two in Oak Hill’s (1-4) 22-3 victory over Carrabec Friday in a softball contest. Her catcher, Emma Hlester went 3-for-3 with three rbi.

Grace Sabine also went 3-for-3 including a double and also bringing in three of her teammates. Kayla Veilleux and Brooke Sourette which had two hits in the win.

Bailey Atwood had a triple for Carrabec (2-1).

Brewer 14, Lewiston 2

BREWER —   Brewer cruised to a 14-2 victory over Lewiston in KVAC softball action Friday afternoon.

The Witches (3-1) got off to a three-run lead in the first and improved to 10-1 by the third inning. Cassie Green tripled in the first run of the game for Brewer.

Emily Turner plated Lauren Belleau for one of the Blue Devil’s (0-4) two runs in the five-inning contest.

Ally Chapman earned the mound win for Brewer, while Makayla Girouard suffered the loss.

Oceanside 6, Leavitt 3

THOMASTON —   Amy Mazinek sealed the win with a two-run single in the sixth inning as Oceanside breezed to a 6-3 victory over Leavitt in KVAC softball action Friday afternoon.

The only extra base hit in the game came off the bat of Bri Dugan for the Mariners (3-1) in the form of a triple.

Annie Castonguay and Kaitlyn DeBlois had two hits apiece for the Hornets (2-2). The DeBlois hit led to one of Leavitt’s run.

Oxford Hills 10, Mt. Ararat 0

SOUTH PARIS — A strong seven-run third inning proved to be too much to handle, as Oxford Hills ran past Mt. Ararat 10-0 in girls’ softball action.

Crystal West and Erika Whitman combined to pitch a gem for the Vikings (3-1), allowing just two hits on the day. West, Myriah Lausier, Annika Kahkonen and Kayleigh Knox scattered a pair of hits each to pace the Vikes.

Alana Weaver took the loss pitching for Mt. Ararat (0-4).
