Crochet sessions start May 6

STARKS — Crocheting Made Easy will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 13, 20 and 27, at 11 Locke Hill Road, next to the United in Christ Presbyterian Church.

Fee is $30 for the full session, $10 for one session, sliding fee scale.

Learn the basics of crochet from an expert, instructor Shirley Leeman, by making household items or bring unfinished crochet projects and get them finished.

Drop-in registration is available at class.

The Crafter’s Cottage is a mission of United in Christ Presbyterian Church, in service to the commandment of Jesus Christ to love one another as he has loved us. This mission seeks to bring dignity, economic empowerment and respect for the work of fine artists and artisans of local handmade crafts and is designed to provide economic models, education and opportunities for fellowship.

P.O. carriers to hold food drive

FARMINGTON — The NALC and the carriers at the Farmington Post Office will hold their annual food drive on Saturday, May 10.

To help stamp out hunger, place nonperishable food items in an bag in or by your mailbox for it to be delivered to a local food bank.

Food can also be brought to the lobby of the Post Office from Wednesday, May 7, through May 10.

Free monthly community luncheon

FARMINGTON — A free monthly community luncheon will be served from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at Old South First Congregational Church, 227 Main St.

The menu consists of baked beans, hot dogs, cole slaw and dessert.

For delivery in the Farmington area, call the church office during the week at 778-0424 or the church kitchen the morning of the luncheon at 778-4438.

Campground Band dance at Jay VFW

JAY — A dance will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at the VFW Hall, 64 Jewel St.

Music will be provided by the Campground Band.

Manna & Melody free meal, concert

GREENE — Manna & Melody Ministries will serve up yet another free meal for everyone on Sunday, May 11, at The Christian Universalist Church of Greene,  on Route 202.

The meal will commence after a free concert performed by Tifton Carver Band. The concert starts at 10 a.m. Take Mom on a beautiful Mother’s Day ride and experience great music and a free ham dinner with baked potato and all the fixings.

Ladies/Community Breakfast is May 14

RANGELEY — The next Ladies/Community Breakfast will be held from 7 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, at Four Seasons Cafe.
