LEWISTON — Rita C. Galipeau, 79, a resident of Maison Marcotte, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, May 4, at her residence.
She was born in Lewiston on Feb. 8, 1935, a daughter of Albert and Yvonne (Champagne) Dubois. Rita was a secretary for many years in the local shoe industry and was also a receptionist at Maison Marcotte, until her retirement.
She was a former member of the Pine Tree Warriors and was an avid bingo player. She was also a frequent guest at Oxford Casino. She had a love and passion for the Boston Bruins.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan and partner, Donna Blanchette Lizotte, of Woolwich and Elaine Roy and husband, Denis, of Lewiston; one brother, Adrien Dubois and wife, Selia; one sister, Lauretta Morin and husband, Donald, of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Rena Fraser and husband, Nate, Katelyn Roy and Willia Blanchette Lizotte; and one great-granddaughter, Violet Fraser.
She was predeceased by her first husband, William Lizotte; her second husband, James Galipeau; and a special companion, Roland Pleau; as well as one brother, Lucien Dubois.
