Public offices sought or held

This is the first office I have run for.

Do you favor consolidating the Twin Cities?

Yes

Why? What is the benefit?

We need to look at different solutions to keep the cities fiscally responsible and benefit the taxpayers. Taxes keep increasing but resources keep decreasing.

We need to make sure L-A is affordable and attractive to young professionals, mid-income workers and families. This means strong schools, fire and police departments, and other community resources.

What would convince you to change your opinion?

If the consolidation does not save the cities money, and causes increased taxes, or reduced benefits, I will not be for the consolidation of the cities. I am looking at it for the fiscal benefit of the two cities.

What is the single most important question for the Charter Commission to settle?

How will this benefit the taxpayers from both cities?

If the cities are combined, where should the city offices be located and why?

With Lewiston being incorporated as a city before Auburn, I am in favor of having the city offices located in Lewiston. I would be open to moving all the school department offices to Auburn.

Where should the main police station be located and why?

I am also in favor of having the police department in Lewiston due to the department already having its own building and location. Also with Lewiston’s population being larger it would be important to keep that strong presence there.
