LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Dr. Camille A. Gardner was celebrated by the Rev. Marc Caron on Monday, May 12, at Holy Family Church of the Prince of Peace Parish.

During Mass, Camille’s granddaughter, Laura, presented the New Testament reading and another granddaughter, Shannon Morgan, recited the Prayer of the Faithful. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by family members, Sarah, Laura and Gerry Gardner, as well as Daniel, Caitlin and Shannon Morgan.

At the conclusion of Mass, the U.S. Air Force honor detail played taps and while Camille’s burial flag was being folded by the honor guard, Sister Monique Belanger, OP, played a piano rendition of “America The Beautiful,” after which our country’s flag was presented to Camille’s son, Carlton, in recognition of his father’s service during World War II.

Bearers were Sarah, Laura and Gerry Gardner, as well as Daniel, Caitlin and Shannon Morgan. At the conclusion of services, all in attendance were invited to a reception of fellowship at Marco’s Restaurant in Lewiston. Burial will be held privately at Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Augusta. Arrangements by Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home, Lewiston.
