BOSTON — News reports link the gun used by Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsaraev to Maine.
The reports say a black Ruger P95 was boughtin 2011 at Cabela’s in Scarborough and passed to a gang member in Portland. Authorities are unable to say how Tsaraev got the gun.
His brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 20, has pleaded not guilty to 30 federal charges in the April 15, 2013, bombing that killed three people and injured more than 260. He and Tamerlan Tsarnaev are accused of placing two pressure cooker bombs near the marathon finish line. Three days later, Tamerlan was killed in a gunbattle with police, the same night Massachusetts Institute of Technology security officer Sean Collier was shot and killed.
