1928 – 2014
AUGUSTA — Richard Louis Vigue, of West Gardiner, passed away on Friday, May 9, at MaineGeneral Medical Center after a short illness.
Born in Skowhegan in 1928, the son of Richard Arthur and Leona Bouford Vigue, he was a resident of West Gardiner since 1942. He was a member of the National Guard, Camp Keyes, 133rd, for 39 years, with 30 years of civil service.
Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his ATV, cutting firewood out back in the woods and starting his day with coffee, with his buddies at Fuller’s Market.
He is survived by a son, Gary and wife, Debra; daughters, Nanette and husband, David Ouellette, Lori Canty and Cheryl and husband, Michael Soucy, all of West Gardiner; a sister, Lola Nightingale and her son, Jared; six grandchildren, Deanna Felvey and Michael Ouellette, John and Joshua Canty and Jeremy and Jessica Soucy; and three great-grandchildren, Shawn and Ella Soucy and Aedan Felvey.
He was predeceased by his wife, Gwendolyn Bowie; parents; sister, Nancy; and brother, Peter.
