RUMFORD — Mary M. Touchette, 86, died Tuesday, May 13, at Rumford Community Home. She was a resident of Roxbury.
Born in New York City on March 28, 1928, she was a daughter of Vito and Caterina (Fella) Massaro, and attended New York schools. She was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius-St. John Church in Rumford.
She loved being a mother, knitting and spending time with her grandchildren. She was well known for her tomato sauce.
Mary was married in New York City on June 22, 1946, to Alfred Touchette; he died Dec. 7, 2011.
Survivors include a son, Anthony Touchette and his wife, Brigitte, of Gorham; daughter-in-law, Kathy Touchette, of Mexico; grandchildren, Ellyn Touchette of Portland, John Patrick Touchette of Gorham, Joseph Touchette Jr. and family of Rumford, Kim White and family of Mexico, Kasey Touchette of Lewiston, David Touchette and family of Lisbon Falls, Todd Porter and family of Richmond, Va., and Tanya Porter and family of Kittery; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Copland and family of Titusville, Fla.
She was predeceased by her husband, Al; a son, Joseph Touchette; a daughter, Dora Touchette; a sister, Dora Massaro; and brothers, James and Philip Massaro.
