1922 – 2014

LEWISTON — Albert A. Clifford, 92, of Auburn, died on Saturday, May 17, at d’Youville Pavilion.

Albert was born in Webster on May 16, 1922, a son of William G. and Gertrude (Dow) Clifford. He attended schools in Sabattus and enlisted in the U.S. Army in October 1940; he was in Europe during World War II, until August 1945. In 1947, he married Margarita Allen of Auburn and they resided in Auburn most of their married life.

He was a finish carpenter and retired in 1986. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, the Red Sox, the Patriots and doing projects around his home.

Albert is survived by his wife; his daughter, Paula Bolduc (Stephen), of Mechanic Falls; his son, Alan Clifford (Kathy), of Marion, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Rosalba) of Auburn, Michael (Elisha) of Lewiston, Jeremy of Lewiston, Benjamin of New York, N.Y., Simon (Crystal) of Pompano Beach, Fla., Bethany Veladanda (Vinod) of Marion, Ohio and Jamie Hawkins (Paul) of Marion, Ohio; eight great-grandchildren, Moses, Annabella, Maxwell, Isaac, Ezekiel and Ocean Graham and Siri and Kamran Veledanda; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his infant daughter, Susan Margaret; his sisters, Florence Ramsay and Mildred Genthner; and his brothers Howard, Robert, Harold and his twin, Alfred.
