LEWISTON — The Lewiston/Auburn Memorial Day Parade will be led by the Kora Shrine Highlanders as it steps off from Kennedy Park at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 24.

All organizations are welcome to march in the parade, which will be followed by a ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Park. The 26th stone will be unveiled, rain or shine, by Albert Lepine of the American Cold War Veterans Inc.

The LA Veterans Council invites anyone who would like to have the name of their loved one or friends who have served in the military inscribed on Monument 27 to apply.

Any man or woman who has served honorably in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, Reserves, Merchant Marine in any conflict, peacetime or wartime, is eligible. The only prerequisite is that they have either a DD214, Honorable Discharge or proof of service.

Three Medal of Honor recipients are inscribed on the monuments, which include the names of 5,400 service people.
