RUMFORD — The Rumford-Mexico Horseshoe League is a bit late getting started this year, secretary Mark Gaudet said early Friday evening.

“We’re a little late this year, but the weather has not been our friend,” Gaudet said.  The winter was long and the spring was rainy, he said.

League play will begin at 6 p.m. Monday, May 26, at the horseshoe pits at Hosmer Field, next to the ice skating rink, he said.

“New members are welcome,” Gaudet said.
