Benefit dance at Eagles Hall

RUMFORD — A benefit for Fern Cayer will take place from 5 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at the Eagles Hall, 13 Oxford St.

A spaghetti supper will be available from 5 p.m. until sold out. The meal will include meatballs, garlic bread, cole slaw, beverage and assorted desserts.

A live auction will be held at 6:30 p.m. and a dance with music by Gary Petrie and Jamie Virgin will begin at 7:30 p.m. There will also be a Chinese auction and a 50/50 raffle.

Cayer is receiving treatment for brain cancer.

Cost for the meal is $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. The dance is $10. Cost for supper and dance is $15.

Sportsman Unite dance

RUMFORD —  A Sportsman Unite dance, “Saving Our Hunting Heritage,” will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at the American Legion Post 24, 184 Congress St.

Music will be provided by DJ Whitewave Entertainment (Jen Pingree). There will also be a Chinese auction.

Cost is $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Tickets are available at Dixfield Discount Fuel, 568-0972, 1180 Route 2, across from the old Rowe Rumford, and at the American Legion, 369-9053.

Wellness fair volunteers

RUMFORD — The Consumer Council System of Maine, Beacon House, Swift River Healthcare and Healthy Coalition would like to show their appreciation to several people and organizations for being presenters for the Spring Wellness Fair held on April 5.

They would like to thank Marylena McDermott, Marilyn Swan, Katie Sloma, Community Dental, Med Care, Dawson Walton, Scott Frasier from Hannafords, Heather Merchant, Donna Boucher and Diane Farnum for their topics and presentations and Melissa Fallon for lunch.

The next wellness fair will be in the fall.
