LEWISTON — The Center for Wisdom’s Women, a day drop-in center for women, announces its schedule of programs for June.

Highlights this month include a book art class with Sarah Shepley at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 3. To celebrate the Solstice, Saturday, June 21, the center will host a Quiet Day from  10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with Klara Tammany. Lunch will be provided. Sign up at the center or call to reserve a spot. The Quiet Day will be followed by a Singing Circle from 3 to 5:30 p.m., with a break at 4 for a shared potluck meal.

Betsy Ware will return to the center at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, to offer Reiki therapy. Sign up for 10 minutes with Ware.

For those who like to cook, a second sour dough bread-baking class will be held all day on Thursday, June 5, and the “What’s Cooking?” class will make a seasonal soup at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 17.

The center is also taking registrations for the next “Cooking Matters” series, led by the Nutrition Center of Maine. When there are at least six participants, the dates will be scheduled.

A shell craft class is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, and Sue will lead scrapbooking class at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 18. Roxie will teach crocheting at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 17.

Other regular events are Bingo on Tuesday, June 24, the Art Van on Wednesday, June 25, the monthly clothing give-away on Thursday, June 26 and the June birthday party on Friday, June 20. All these monthly programs begin at 10 a.m.

The weekly Writing Workshop with Pat Gardiner continues each Monday at 10 a.m. The monthly Playing with Poetry class offered by Kathryn Tracy is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 24. It includes experiencing poems through reading and writing.

The weekly nurturing programs continue at 12:30 p.m. “Be Healthy, Be Strong” meets on Mondays, with a guest speaker, Diane Dillion on June 2, sharing her insights about living with mental illness. Wednesday afternoons each week are dedicated to nurturing the “Inner Spirit” through experiences like mandala making, spiritual conversation or guided meditation.

Support for family caregivers is available on Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m. and a weekly Al-Anon group meets Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. The BLT group for Bisexual, Lesbian and Transgendered women and their friends or family will meet at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 26.

The center is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday. On Friday the center closes at noon. It will be closed Tuesday, June 10, for a staff day, and beginning Friday, June 27, will close on Fridays through July and August. The full calendar of events is posted at www.wisdomswomen.org.
