1987 – 2014

MOUNT VERNON — Lucas P. “Luke” Vining, 26, a resident of Mount Vernon, passed away suddenly due to health-related issues on Tuesday, June 3, at his residence.

He was born in Farmington on July 10, 1987, the son of Stephen and Claire (de la Motte) Vining. He was a 2006 graduate of Mount Blue High School and attended Kennebec Valley Community College. Luke worked at Towle’s Hardware in Dixfield and J & S Oil in Manchester.

Luke was known as a homebody, enjoying time spent with his family, friends and his dog, “Diesel,” listening to country music and going mudding. He was very mechanically inclined and was always working on some kind of project.

Luke was a kind and loving soul, with a contagious smile, and will be deeply missed by his family and those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his parents, Claire Vining and her companion, “Bunny” Allen, of Wilton and Stephen Vining and fiancée, Rebecca Durant, of Weld; his sister, Michel Vining, of Mount Vernon; his niece, Mya Gastin; his companion, Wanda Marston, of Peru; many aunts and uncles; and his faithful dog, Diesel.
