LEEDS — The Rural Community Action Ministry Board of Directors has hired Mary Beth Paquette as interim executive director.
Paquette comes to RCAM with a background in social services. Her experience in nonprofit management, staff and volunteer supervision, fiscal responsibility, grassroots service delivery and community networking make her an excellent match to RCAM’s mission.
With offices in Leeds, RCAM has been serving the residents of rural towns in central Maine since 1970. Their service area includes Buckfield, Canton, Greene, Hartford, Leeds, Litchfield, Livermore, Monmouth, Sabattus, Sumner, Turner, Wales and Wayne.
Services include housing in one of three shelter facilities — a two-unit homeless shelter, a single-family transitional home and a senior residence that provides a room with bath and common areas for up to five senior citizens.
Other service provision includes homelessness prevention in the form of fuel assistance, meals, transportation and home repair. RCAM also runs a gardening program that provides vegetable seedlings for growing and canning at home.
