1945 – 2014

PERU — Richard Joseph Comeau, 68, of Auburn Road, passed away at his home, with his family by his side, on Tuesday afternoon, June 10.

He was born on June 14, 1945, a son of James and Alice (Duguay) Comeau and attended Rumford schools. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a jet mechanic and served in Cuba from 1963 to 1966, and served in the reserve until 1968. After he returned home, he did what he loved best: working in the woods.

Richard was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was especially fond of rabbit hunting and taking his grandsons fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Linda, of Peru; four daughters, Michelle of Dixfield, Darcy and her companion, Chuckie, of Mexico, Annette and companion, Dave, of Limington and Valerie and her husband, Brian Gurney, of Peru; a stepson, Cory Gurney, of Peru; four granddaughters, Shyla, Casey, Nikki and Ashley; three grandsons, McKenzie, Bryor and Denzel; a sister, Jackie Arsenault, of Florida; and a special beagle, Silver Girl.

He was predeceased by three sisters; three brothers; and his son, Billy Comeau.
