LEWISTON — The Korean Medal and a new Korean War book called “Korea Reborn” are available to all Korean veterans. Both are free, but an application must be filled out to be able to get either one or both of these items.

Korean veterans must have been on permanent assignment or on temporary duty of 30 consecutive days or 60 non-consecutive days. A veteran must have performed his or her duty within the territorial limits of Korea, in the waters immediately adjacent thereto or in aerial flight over Korea, participating in actual combat operations or in support of combat operations.

To get the application, call or write Bert Dutil, advisory to the L & A Veterans Council, at 786-2305 or 23 Spofford St., Apt. 454, Lewiston, ME 04240. Applications also may be available at Lewiston City Hall Clerk Office, Vet Center or Veterans Clinic and Auburn City Hall. Completed applications are then sent to the Augusta address on the application.

Spaces for a few names remain on the stone tables at Veterans Park in Lewiston. For an application, call Norm Cote at 782-1725.
