WINDHAM — E. Walter and Adele Cox are announcing the wedding of their daughter, Bethany Erica Cox, to Dr. Paul Jin-Young Park, son of Dr. Seung and Mrs. Chang Park. The couple was united in marriage on Saturday, Jan. 11, at Windham Hill United Church of Christ. The ceremony was officiated by Pastor Daniel Coleman of the Kennebec Community Church in Augusta.

Her father escorted the bride and the 11-member bridal party was made up entire of the bride’s nieces and nephews, ranging in age from three months to 13 years. Ethan Smith, brother-in-law of the bride, gave two musical performances. Following the American ceremony, the couple engaged in a portion of a traditional Korean ceremony, a Pae Baek, along with their parents.

The bride is a 1996 graduate of Eastgate Christian Academy and is an alumna of Salem State College in Salem, Mass. She holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology. She was most recently employed at Monte Vista Christian School as the director of resident life and international admissions.

The bridegroom is a 1993 graduate of Edward C. Reed High School in Sparks, Nev. and is an alumna of the University of Pennsylvania. He obtained his M.D., Ph.D. in 2006 from the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno and Las Vegas, Nev., and has been in residency training for neurological surgery. He is currently the Korean American Medical Association Global Outreach Fellow, volunteering at Preah Kossamak Hospital in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The day after the ceremony, the couple traveled to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where they will honeymoon and then reside during the remainder of Dr. Park’s teaching stint in that city.
