DIXFIELD — The Oxford County Democrats have announced hosts for the Recognition Dinner for Rep. Sheryl Briggs to be held on Thursday, June 19, at the Dixfield Legion Hall.
Hosts include Sheriff Wayne Gallant of Rumford, Sen. John and Claire Patrick of Rumford, Malcolm and Maureen Gill of Dixfield, Jimmy and Brenda McHugh of Mexico, Rep. Helen Rankin of Hiram, Colby Davis of Canton, Cathy Newell of Greenwood, Roy Gedat of Norway and Jean Ford of Mexico. It is not too late to join the host list with a donation of $50 and up. Host donations may be mailed to PO Box 187, Greenwood ME 04255.
The menu for the 5:30 p.m. dinner will be spaghetti and all the fixings, prepared by the Legion Auxiliary under the direction of Bridget Daigle.
Tickets are $12, with senior and student discount at $10. Advance reservation are appreciated and may be made by calling Oxford County Democratic chair Cathy Newell at 875-2116. Payment may be made at the door.
The dinner will be preceded by a social time and followed by a short program highlighting the legislative service of Briggs, who was elected in a special election in 2007. She is retiring due to term limits.
