POLAND — Lucas Johnson had a three-run blast to help propel Tri-Town to an 8-2 victory over Highland Green in Zone III American Legion Baseball on Thursday night. Billy Bickford also had a double to spark Tri-Town’s (1-0) offense.
On the mound, Shawn Murphy pitched into the sixth inning, allowing three hits and striking out seven in the victory. Giffen Stockford had a double for Highland Green (1-2).
Locke Mills 12, Andy Valley 0
BETHEL — Tyler Frost and Kaine Hutchins keyed the offense with two hits — including a double — each and two RBI as Locke Mills pounded out a 12-0 win over Andy Valley in Zone III American Legion baseball action Thursday.
Logan Bartlett went the distance on the mound for Locke Mills, striking out 10 while allowing just two hits.
Tyler Hutchinson ripped both of those hits for Andy Valley, though he also suffered the loss on the hill.
