AUGUSTA — The Feather Lungs, an up-and-coming new band with local roots, will perform at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 10, as part of Lithgow Public Library’s outdoor Summer Concert Series. The concert will take place on the library lawn.

The

formed in the spring of 2013 after longtime musical comrades and Hallowell natives David Young (guitar) and Richard Fortin (drums) decided to bring in other musicians to expand their jam sessions. The duo met vocalist Laura Wood online after posting some music and felt instant chemistry with the Bangor-based singer. Eventually, the group added Portland bassist Nick Perry after meeting through mutual friends. The band spent the first half of 2014 tracking a full-length debut album, “Arrival,” which will be in stores later this summer.

The band’s website is www.thefeatherlungs.com.

The concerts take place on Thursday evenings in the summer, and are free and open to the public. In case of rain, the concert will be held in the library’s Reading Room.

Lithgow Library is at 45 Winthrop Street. For more information, call 207-626-2415 or visit www.lithgow.lib.me.us.
