FARMINGTON — Henderson Memorial Baptist Church will give away hot dogs after the Fourth of July parade while accepting donations for the Franklin County Ecumenical Heating Fund.

The stand will be on the lawn facing Main Street.

Ecu Heat Share is a ministry of Farmington Area Ecumenical Ministry in partnership with United Way of the Tri-Valley Area. Western Maine Community Action administers the program by receiving, recording and approving the applications, paying the fuel vendors the balance due and billing Ecu Heat for reimbursement.

While the program is open to all who live in Franklin County and has no income requirements, it is designed to lend a helping hand primarily to those who are unemployed, underemployed, disabled and retired. Recipients are only eligible once per heating season.

Checks payable to Ecu Heat may also be mailed to Ecu Heat, PO Box 147, Farmington, ME 04938.

For more information, contact Susan Crane, coordinator of Ecu Heat, at 778-2163 or faemofficer@gmail.com.
