The show is set in a hair salon — The Big Tease — where customers and stylists talk about life and sing a series of familiar (and not so familiar) barbershop harmony tunes including the theme song, “Big Hair.” Some of the more familiar tunes include “At Last,” “I Believe in Music,” “Crazy,” and a medley of “Goody, Goody” and “Who’s Sorry Now,” and audiences will delight in the more humorous numbers like “I Feel a Flash Coming On” and “Diet Riot.”

“Big Hair” will be presented as part of the Poland Spring Concert Series, Monday, July 21; at the Brick Church in Lovell, Thursday, July 24; and at the Denmark Arts Center, Saturday, July 26.

Under the direction of Bonnie Fox, the chorus includes the following members from Bethel, Rumford, Waterford, Lovell, Norway, South Paris, Oxford, Hebron, Bridgton, and Naples: Deborah Andrews, Cheryl Barker, Andrea Bennett, Merry Childs, Janet Coverdale, Joan Erler, Jolan Ippolito, Susan Leunig, Deborah Luxton, Nancy McNulty, Marylin Newell, Debra Nichols, Valerie Saurer, and Jan Ward.

The Mollyockett Chorus is a Region 1 Chapter of the Sweet Adelines International. They have been singing barbershop harmony since 1996. Barbershop harmony is a musical style sung without accompaniment by bass, baritone, lead, and tenor voices. For more information, call 207-345-3100 or visit
