Cadance Thomas, 8, of Turner and formerly of Canton, holds her stuffed bunny named Susan, which has a baby bunny atop its back. It won the cutest category at Tuesday’s Stuffed Animal Pet Show at the “Fizz, Boom, Read” program at Ludden Memorial Library in Dixfield. Fifty children brought their favorite stuffed animals and told judges Carlo Puiia, Dixfield town manager; Richard A. Pickett, Dixfield police chief; and Bill DeVries of the Dixfield Economic Development Council, why the critter was important to them. Categories were best in show, second place, cutest, funniest, fluffiest, softest, prettiest, biggest, smallest and scariest.
All eyes were on 6-year-old Thomas Overdorf of Dixfield on Tuesday afternoon as he told three judges at Ludden Memorial Library’s Stuffed Animal Pet Show in Dixfield why his stuffed animal, Jack the Bear, is so important to him.
While waiting for judging Tuesday afternoon during Ludden Memorial Library’s Stuffed Animal Pet Show in Dixfield, 10-year-old Madison Dawson, left, of Dixfield, pets her giant turtle named Squirt, while her 12-year-old sister Abigail Dawson, also of Dixfield, clenches her tiger and looks at other children’s stuffed animals.
