GRAY — Fish culturist Ashley Malinowski of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife invites the public to see and photograph several species specimens of cold water fish the department raises and stocks.

A variety of large fish will be laid out on beds of ice in coolers, and available for visitors to touch, measure and weigh from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 5, at the Maine Wildlife Park in Gray.

People can learn about how fish biologists monitor fish populations with techniques such as electrofishing, fish tagging projects and research into the use of plastic baits and their possible impacts on wild fish health.
