1959 – 2014

AUBURN — Darren Allan McKenna, 55, of 98 Winter St., Auburn, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, June 30.

Born in Lewiston on June 3, 1959, he was the son of Walter and Irma “Carole” McKenna. He was a member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church throughout his childhood. He attended Auburn schools, graduating in 1978 from Edward Little High School. After high school, he studied accounting at the University of Maine at Augusta at the Auburn location.

He held various managerial positions in the food industry and also worked for local car dealerships. He was presently employed in the food business. Darren was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Boston Red Sox fan, as well as a NASCAR enthusiast.

Beside his parents, he is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Gerald “Terri” Couture of Hermon, Mrs. James “Susan” Carver of Minot, Barbara McKenna of Portland and Mrs. Michael “Tiffany” Savage of Turner; one brother, Michael McKenna, of Jackman; two nieces, Bethany Couture-Rosado of New York and Sandra Gilson of Portland; and five nephews, Travis Couture of Hermon, Christopher Carver of Buckfield, Brandon McKenna and John Gilson of Portland and Alex McKenna of Strong. He has many relatives from the Mexico and Rumford area, as well as New Brunswick, Canada.

He was predeceased by a sister, Lisa McKenna, in 2002.

He also leaves behind two special friends, Ron and Debbie Eugley, who were like family to him.

He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all who loved and knew him.
