WINTHROP — The “Can Film Festival” will continue at 7 p.m. Friday, July 11, at the Friends Meetinghouse on Winthrop Center Road, Route 135.

The CAN’S objective is to have fun, see a well-known film appealing to all age groups, and support local food banks. The “Price of Admission” is a can (or two or three cans) or boxed food items to help support the Winthrop and area food banks. There will be popcorn for all.

This event features a comedy with George Clooney as the voice-over in a film focusing on the wild ways of a hen-heckling, turkey-taking, and cider-sipping fox who is trying to learn his responsibilities as a mature role-model and father. Our viewing license for not-for-profit showing does not permit release of the film’s title to the public, but you will not regret seeing this film for the first time or seeing it again.

Plan to enjoy a family night out together, and make a contribution to your community. The CAN FIM FESTIVAL helps to support the Winthrop Food Pantry, the Mount Vernon Food Bank, St. Mark’s Everyday Essentials Pantry, and the Center for Women’s Wisdom. The Winthrop Food Bank posts its most needed items at http://winthropfood.org as well as other items they can accept.
