RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial with Military Honors for John L. Tardiff of Mexico were celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, at Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius — St. John Church, 126 Maine Ave., Rumford, with the Rev. Greg Dube as celebrant. Altar Assistant was Bernard Poirier. Organist was Mark Belanger.

Music selections included “Hosea,” “Be Not Afraid,” “We Will Rise Again” and “Fly Like a Bird.” Readings from the Old and New Testaments were pronounced by grandchildren Michael Davis and Crystal Cloutier.

The gifts were presented by son, John Tardiff Jr., and grandson, Joel Tardiff. Eulogy and words of remembrance were given by his daughter, Renee Cloutier.

Military Honors were provided by the Maine Military Funeral Honors Program from Augusta.

A reception followed at LeParesseux Snowshoe Club on Waldo Street, Rumford.
