1977 – 2014

RUMFORD — Amy Rose (Downs) Breton, 36, of Wyman Hill Road, passed away on Monday, July 14, at Rumford Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends.

She was born in Rumford on Aug. 25, 1977, a daughter of Rosemary A. Leavitt and Walter L. Downs Jr. Amy was educated in Rumford schools and was a graduate of Mountain Valley High School. She was also a graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington.

She was a teacher at Virginia Elementary and Rumford Elementary schools for 15 years. Amy loved teaching, singing, dancing and spending time outdoors, but most of all spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are her husband, Eric R. Breton, of Rumford; her mother and father, Walter L. Downs Jr. and Rosemary Leavitt Downs of Rumford; her mother- and father-in-law, Al and Diane Breton of Rumford; a son, Noah R. Breton, of Rumford; paternal grandparents, Sylvia Donahue of Peru and Walter L. Downs Sr. of Mexico; a sister, Heidi LeVasseur and husband, Andre, of Florence, S.C.; and three brothers-in-law, Barry Breton and wife, Kim, Chad Breton and Adam Breton and wife, Becca.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Yvette and Harold Leavitt.
