Chicken barbecue at church

WILTON — An eat-in or take-out chicken barbecue will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at First Congregational Church, Main Street. Menu will include chicken, cole slaw, roll, blueberry cake or ice cream with blueberry sauce. The meals are $7 and $8.50. For more information, call 645-2535.

Association to meet at cemetery

TURNER — The North Turner Cemetery Association will hold its summer meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at the cemetery to discuss grave maintenance and tree work and hear reports.

Book sale to benefit library

WILTON —  A book sale to benefit the Wilton Free Public Library will be held as part of Wilton’s Blueberry Festival from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, and 11 a.m. to 4:30 p. Saturday, Aug. 2, at Western Maine Development, 128 Weld St.

There will be books of all sorts for readers of all ages and tastes plus books on tape and videos. Pricing is “by donation.”

Grange to host bean supper

JAY —  A supper will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at the North Jay Grange 10. There will be baked beans, casseroles, salads, cole slaw, meats, breads, beverages and desserts.
