PHILLIPS — An Avon man is accused of physically assaulting an ex-girlfriend Tuesday night at a Phillips residence on Pleasant Street.
Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Morgan arrested Frank G. Moody, 58, on a felony charge of domestic violence aggravated assault on Tuesday, Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. said Wednesday.
Moody followed the woman to the residence on foot, grabbed her around the neck and started to strangle her, he said. The assault happened outdoors, he said.
Moody walked away from the residence, and the incident was reported to police at 4:46 p.m. Lt. David St. Laurent, Morton and Cpl. Nate Bean responded to the area and located Moody walking down the road, Nichols said.
“He apparently was intoxicated,” he said.
He was arrested and taken to the Franklin County jail in Farmington.
Moody was being held Wednesday morning without bail, a corrections officer said.
