BRIDGTON — Local volunteers have been working hard all year to expand on the success of last summer’s Village Folk Festival kickoff, which ran for just one day and exceeded attendance expectations. That inaugural event included live music all day, a free community harvest dinner, games and events for kids and a handful of local vendors.
This year, the festivities have expanded to two days, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 22 and 23, with many more vendors from the Lake Region and beyond. There will be live entertainment both days, food and beverages for sale, and many events for kids and families.
The Village Folk Festival will be held in downtown Bridgton on Depot Street, behind Reny’s and the Magic Lantern Theater. The street will be closed off for a “Block Party” vibe, and there will be parking in the Municipal Lot adjacent to the event.
The event is a celebration of the area’s unique charm through its history, its people, and their many talents and skills.
