1943 – 2014

LEWISTON — Joan St. Laurent, 71, of Lewiston, formerly of Fort Myers, Fla., died at her sister’s home on Tuesday, July 29, after a long illness.

She was predeceased by her partner, Lorraine J. Breton.

She was born on March 16, 1943, in Lewiston to Laurier St. Laurent and Jeanne Fournier St. Laurent. She attended Holy Family Parochial School, Lewiston High School, Central Maine General School of Nursing and Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She worked as a nurse anesthetist at Collier Hospital in Fort Myers, Fla., and Lawrence Memorial Hospital in New London, Conn.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Lights Catholic Church in Fort Myers, Fla., where she volunteered. She loved to travel the world and was proud of her Native American ancestry.

She is survived by her sister, Linda St. Laurent Dubois and her husband, Fern, of Lewiston; two nieces, Stacy Dubois Dion and her husband, Tom, of Derry, N.H., and Cindy Dubois Gal and her husband, George, of Winchester, Mass.; her boys, Richard Breton and his wife, Doris, of Rochester, N.H., and Daniel Breton and wife Barbara, of Plainfield, Conn.
