SOUTH PARIS — Celebration Barn will host Amanda Huotari’s one-woman comedy “The Soiree” at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9.

“The Soiree” is a theatrical party hosted by the witty and grandiose Elizabeth, whose charms slowly come unhinged over an interactive performance of physical comedy, stand-up and other improvisational surprises. Written and performed by Huotari, directed by Avner Eisenberg.

Huotari has served as executive director of Celebration Barn Theater since 2007. With a BFA in acting from Emerson College, she also studied physical theater at the Lecoq School in France and trained in Commedia dell’Arte with Antonia Fava in Italy. She has performed her own original material across the U.S. and beyond with highlights including New York Clown-Theater Festival, Seattle’s Moisture Festival, and Teatro R101 in Bogota, Colombia. Huotari is currently an adjunct acting teacher at Southern Maine Community College.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $14 adults, $12 for seniors, and $8 for students/kids. For tickets, call 207-743-8452. Celebration Barn Theater at 190 Stock Farm Road. For more information, visit www.CelebrationBarn.com.
