1947 – 2014

JAY — Stephen W. White Sr., 67, of Jay, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, Aug. 5, after a long illness.

He was born in Kingfield on July 16, 1947, a son of Everett and Kathleen (Reid) White. Steve was educated in Kingfield schools and he worked many years in the construction field.

Steve enjoyed spending time with his family and was known as “Bumpa.” He loved going to his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. He was a very proud coach of the AYS North Jay Red Sox.

He also enjoyed hunting at the family camp in Starks, fishing, racing boats and traveling, and he was an integral part of his son’s motorcycle drag racing and grandson’s motocross. He loved his granddogs, Rusty and Annie, who were always by his side.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Donna (Babb) White; their two children: Debbie (White) Storer and her husband, Tim Storer, of Weld; and his son, Stephen W. White Jr. and his wife, Michelle (Lacroix) White; as well as his four grandchildren, Zach, Kyle, Alex and Sadie; and his brother, Doug and his wife, Cheryl, of New Sharon.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Olin.

We want to thank Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for their excellent care-giving, and a very special thank-you to Kim and Christy for their caring support. He was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, friend and neighbor, and will be sadly missed.

Messages of condolence and be sent to www.finleyfuneralhome.com.
