LEWISTON — Lynne Adams was awarded the Golden Apple Award at Gov. James B. Longley Elementary School.

According to the nomination letter: “I am nominating Lynne Adams for the Golden Apple Award because she has dedicated 30-plus years to education at the same school. She has seen many changes in education and has helped to shape the lives of so many young children.

“She not only has a kind heart and a gentle soul, she is dedicated to her practice and is always willing to help anyone who needs a hand. She has been my mentor and still remains my mentor as we work side by side everyday.

“She can brighten your day just by her smile and encouraging words. She never asks for anything and often goes unnoticed and I feel like this is her time to be treated like the special, dedicated, motivated and inspiring teacher she really is. I hope that you can award her with this small award to show her how important she really is to everyone here at Longley.”
