JAY — A Wilton woman received minor injuries Saturday night when the van she was driving drifted off Main Street and struck a concrete stone wall south of C.N. Brown, acting police Chief Richard Caton IV said Monday.

Margaret Yates, 68, had a bruised leg and a sore wrist, he said.

NorthStar EMS ambulance personnel checked Yates at the scene of the 9:20 p.m. accident, but did not take her to a hospital.

Caton estimated that Yates’ 2006 Dodge received more than $3,000 in damage and the retaining wall had more than $2,000 in damage, he said.

Officer Stephen Smith and Jay firefighters assisted Caton at the scene.
