BRIDGTON — Bridgton’s annual Art in the Park scored a picture-perfect day this year, making it a most enjoyable event. There was an abundance of fine art, lovely music and great food.

The 50 or so artists and artisans displayed a dizzying selection of high-quality items but three judges were asked to choose several pieces as winners of the traditional prizes. In the two-dimensional category, Gwen Nagel’s pastel, “Wave,” took first prize. Second place went to Barbara Traficonte and third to Roland Simard. Nancy Engdahl, Earnest Brown and Bradley Jackson received Honorable Mention.

Photography prizes were awarded as follows: first prize to Linda Panzera, second prize to Daryl-Ann Leonard and third to Steve Traficonte. Robert Cuzner received Honorable Mention.

In the three-dimensional category, Kathy McGreavy received first prize for stoneware pottery, Linda Sorensen received second for silver and gold jewelry and Henry Duquette received third for blown glass. Honorable Mention went to Burr Chase, William Rudd and Ken Lindgren.

Bridgton’s Art in the Park is put on every summer by the Bridgton Art Guild. For more information, call Gallery 302 at 647-2787 or visit www.gallery302.com.
