Liz Evans is the gallery’s artist of the month. Her work will be featured at the reception. Evans described her painting, “I’ve had many people ask me to explain my attraction to painting. It’s not the money, though my husband wouldn’t mind retiring. Fame is for the famous. After pondering that for many years, I finally discovered why I paint.

“My mom and her caretaker were walking past my studio while I was painting. The caretaker asked my mother, ‘Why do you think she does that?’ My Mom didn’t hesitate. She came right back with, ‘Because she wants to!’ At that point I realized that is that simple: Because I want to.”

Evans works out of her studio in West Paris. Her works 35 years of experience, having sold her first painting at the age of 15. Her work can be seen at the Main Street Gallery and at www.lliizzee.com

The gallery will be exhibiting the work of fine artists and artisans living and working in Western Maine. Attend the opening to view the collection of original arts, mosaics, landscapes, figurative paintings, still life paintings, jewelry, and more.
