JAY — A local man is accused of sexually abusing a girl under age 18 and giving her alcohol, acting police Chief Richard Caton IV said Tuesday.

Officer Nicholas Gulliver arrested Todd P. Sullivan, 22, of Jay on Monday on a charge of violating condition of release for new criminal conduct.

Sullivan was issued a summons on three misdemeanor counts of sexual abuse of a minor and one misdemeanor count each of furnishing liquor to a minor and furnishing a place for a minor to consume alcohol, Caton said.

The abuse occurred at three locations in town during the weekend, he said.

Police received information, and Caton and Gulliver launched an investigation.

Sullivan, who is on probation for an unrelated crime, is being held without bail at the Franklin County jail in Farmington.
