AUBURN — SymQuest is moving across the river.

President and CEO Larry Sudbay announced the move Wednesday at the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce’s annual Scholarship Scramble golf tournament at Martindale Country Club.

Headquartered in Vermont, the IT services company has seven offices, including facilities in Auburn and Westbrook.

SymQuest bought Downeast Networks Inc. in Auburn in 2012. Sudbay said its lease in Auburn was up and the company would move into 3,300 square feet at 70 Lincoln Ave., in the Bates Mill complex, on Nov. 1.

It employs 14 people locally.

“As we continue to grow, we’ll be adding and hiring additional employees who will be engineers and support personnel,” he said.

SymQuest signed a five-year lease with a five-year option to renew.

“We have a huge growth opportunity,” Sudbay said. “With 185 people, we’re a $40 million technology company. We see ourselves getting to $50 million within the next three years and most of that growth will come in the state of Maine.”
