BUCKFIELD — Buckfield Jr./Sr. High School has two new teachers on  the staff. Cortney Lefebvre will teach business and be the athletic director. Kyle Rines will teach seventh- and eighth-grade English.

Both are familiar with the area and the school. Rines was a long-term substitute business teacher at the school as well as the boys’ soccer coach for two years.

Prior to that, he was a student-teacher at Spruce Mountain High School in Jay. Lefebvre taught at Oxford Hill Technical High School for nine years and one year at Portsmouth High School in Rhode Island.

Both are enthusiastic about getting started.

Lefebvre said, “I am excited about working with new students and to step into the role of athletic director.”

Rines looks forward to “being part of a great team in the middle school.”

That enthusiasm spilled over into their answers to what would they like their students to say at the end of the year.

Lefebvre said she would like to hear her students say “they learned a lot from me and I was an exciting teacher.”

Similarly, Rines answered, “That I was a fun teacher who was really good at instruction, and made reading and writing interesting. That they enjoyed coming to my class ever day.”

Rines earned his bachelor’s degree in secondary English from University of Maine at Farmington.

Lefebvre has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from St. Joseph’s College in Standish. She completed a master’s in education at the University of New England.
