This is in response to Judy Baird’s letter (Aug. 30). Let me explain  “why some people choose to attack Gov. LePage.”

His statements and actions have shown that he has a closed mind — 179 vetoes. Important artwork was removed, ignoring the human suffering and the triumphs it portrays.

In an effort to support his prejudices, LePage wasted $1 million of taxpayers’ money on an out-of-state incompetent researcher and, despite all the evidence of need, he has refused to accept federal money which would have helped 70,000 Mainers obtain health insurance.

There have been countless episodes of rude and insulting remarks. He appears to enjoy antagonizing.

LePage does not appear to support public education, and handed $200 million in tax cuts to Maine’s wealthy.

Mike Michaud has exciting ideas to grow Maine’s economy. He is an excellent listener and well known for bi-partisanship.

Michaud has my vote.
