I would like to take this time to speak about the recent chaos taking place in the Mexico/Rumford community. That once great community has completely turned upside down. I am ashamed to say I was born there.
That was a place where people could raise their children with security, knowing they were safe within the community. I remember riding my bike, playing neighborhood games of manhunt, and playing on the streets until it was time for supper.
Now, the towns have been overrun with drug dealers, addicts and drunks. No one dares to allow their kids to run the streets anymore.
I believe it is time for the community to take a stand and get it together. It was once a beautiful place and deserves to be so again.
