PARIS — Selectmen approved the purchase of a used police car to replace an 11-year-old vehicle.

Paris will buy a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria from Harrison for $2,500 to replace a 2003 Chevrolet Impala.

Town Manager Amy Bernard said the Impala, driven by Detective Sgt. Jeffrey Lange, was worth about $1,600 and needed a few thousand dollars in body and repair work to pass inspection. It has 162,000 miles.

The Ford has 128,000 miles.

Police Chief Michael Madden and Lange said they drove the Ford and that it needs an inspection sticker and an estimated $500 in repairs.
