KITTERY — Police say a woman died in a collision on the Maine Turnpike in Kittery when a tractor trailer crashed through guardrails, crossed a median and hit her vehicle head on.
Authorities did not release the identities of the victim or the driver of the tractor trailer. Police say they are questioning the driver of the trailer and that the trailer was hauling paper products. Police say the woman was driving a sport utility vehicle.
The crash occurred at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Police say two of the three northbound lanes remain open as they investigate the crash.
