YORK (AP) — A former nurse at York Hospital has been charged with stealing narcotic drugs from the hospital for her personal use.
Police say 45-year-old Nicolle Dauphinee of Kennebunkport was summoned to court next month to face a charge of stealing drugs.
Authorities say Dauphinee stole hydromorphone, a narcotic painkiller, intended for patients, and injected herself at work.
The hospital alerted police on Sept. 15 that it suspected an employee of stealing drugs.
Police say the nurse stole the drugs from June until September. The hospital has fired her.
